Hello! I am currently a senior at Arizona State University and work in the tech transfer office - Skysong Innovations.
Last year, most of my friends graduated and moved all around the country. We were frustrated that we couldn't stay in touch like we did while in school together. Moments between us stopped being shared as we moved onto our individual lives. We then decided to try something simple - weekly photo/video dumps in our text groupchat. We ended up doing that every week and seemed to really enjoy this way of staying in each other's lives.
At this same time, I was looking for a passion project - something to build that I would enjoy as opposed to trying to make a million dollars. That's when Rewind was born. I started some 5 months before release but kept giving up as life took over. Finally, seeing it come to fruition and people enjoying it, I have more passion than ever to keep working on it. As I see the way others use it, I truly feel as though I am filling a gap in current generic social media, and even apps similar to mine.
Either way, I wanted to write this so people know I am not a sketchy company farming data, so here it is.
